Seven terrorists killed in foiled infiltration on Pak-Afghan border

Security forces thwarted an attempt by seven terrorists to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported the incident, stating that the terrorists were detected near the border in the Spinkai area of Ghulam Khan and were subsequently engaged and eliminated after a firefight.

The ISPR emphasized the recovery of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the terrorists. Pakistan reiterated its call for effective border management by the interim Afghan government and reaffirmed its commitment to combating terrorism.

Additionally, Pakistan had conducted an anti-terror operation inside Afghanistan targeting the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), responsible for multiple attacks in Pakistan.

The operation came after the group claimed responsibility for an attack that killed seven soldiers.

Pakistan’s army commanders were briefed on the threat posed by terrorist groups operating from Afghanistan, particularly concerning regional and global security and economic interests like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
