Harrowing details surface about college girl stabbed in Karnataka

In a tragic incident unfolding in Karnataka, India, Neha Hiremath, the 23-year-old daughter of Congress corporator Niranjan Hiremath, was fatally stabbed on her college campus in Hubballi by her former classmate, Fayaz.

CCTV footage showed Fayaz stabbing Neha multiple times before fleeing. Police said the woman died of multiple stab wounds inflicted by Fayaz, who was later arrested.

Fayaz who claimed they had been in a relationship but Neha began avoiding him. However, Neha’s father vehemently denied this claim, insisting it was a pre-planned murder and criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for attributing the crime to ‘personal reasons,’ stating it tarnished his family’s reputation.

He urged for more sensitivity during their time of grief and demanded that the accused be encountered by the state as the only means of justice for his deceased daughter. Furthermore, he suggested that others may have been involved in the crime and called for their apprehension.

The demand for capital punishment or encounter for the accused has gained momentum across party lines, with organizations like ABVP calling for a college bandh in Hubballi, garnering significant support.
