Customs raid at Karachi airport prevents smuggling attempt

In a raid conducted at Jinnah International Karachi Airport, customs officials intercepted the luggage of 15 passengers bound for Riyadh, seizing 40,000 cigarette packets, niswar, and other prohibited items.

Acting on a tip-off, authorities thwarted the smuggling attempt, confiscating the contraband from the passengers. Alongside the large quantity of cigarettes, 640 packets of niswar were also confiscated.

Following the raid, passengers were allowed to proceed with their journey after the cigarette packets were confiscated.

Separately, the Karachi law enforcement agencies recently raided a storage facility in Paharganj, North Nazimabad, finding millions worth of smuggled Iranian diesel and kerosene oil.
