PTI expels Sher Afzal Marwat from the party

Founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, reportedly expressed disappointment with party leader Sher Afzal Marwat for his alleged ‘irresponsible behavior,’ declining to meet him on Tuesday.

Sources suggest that the former prime minister, currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail, refused the meeting with Sher Afzal Marwat due to his controversial statements regarding Saudi Arabia’s involvement in the government’s downfall and his meeting with Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.

Moreover, Marwat’s candidacy for the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has been withdrawn from consideration.

In a recent development, PTI’s political committee has approved Sheikh Waqas Akram’s nomination for the PAC chairmanship. This decision comes after Sher Afzal Marwat’s assertion that he would not allow certain individuals to ‘hijack’ PTI.

Sher Afzal Marwat insisted that Imran Khan had not reversed the decision to appoint him as PAC chairman, claiming that Khan’s supposed decision to name another candidate was not communicated to the party’s political committee.

He further stated that he was neither informed about the political committee meeting nor was the matter of PAC chairmanship on the agenda.

Additionally, sources reveal that PTI leadership has removed Sher Afzal Marwat from the party’s political committee and WhatsApp group, sidelining him within the party. Marwat is believed to have been expelled from the party.
