Woman dies after speeding ambulance hits electric pole and catches fire

In Kozhikode, Kerala, a tragic incident occurred early Tuesday morning when a woman patient, identified as Sulochana (57), lost her life in a devastating ambulance accident. The ambulance, en route to a private hospital for emergency surgery, collided with an electric pole, resulting in a fire that engulfed the vehicle.

According to police reports, the ambulance, carrying Sulochana from a Medical College Hospital, veered out of control at high speed, leading to the collision with the electric pole. Despite efforts to rescue the occupants, including the patient, the fire proved fatal for Sulochana.

Alongside the patient, the driver, a doctor, and a nurse were also in the ambulance. Fortunately, they sustained minor injuries and were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
