Security forces eliminate 11 terrorists in Lakki Marwat operation

In a significant intelligence-based operation (IBO) on Tuesday, security forces successfully neutralized at least 11 terrorists in the Lakki Marwat district, according to a statement from the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The ISPR detailed that the operation was a direct response to a recent Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion that tragically claimed the lives of seven soldiers, including Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas and Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir.

During the operation, security forces effectively engaged and neutralized the terrorists at their location. Additionally, several terrorist hideouts were dismantled, further crippling their operational capabilities.

“Sanitization operations are ongoing to ensure no terrorists remain in the area, as the security forces are resolute in their mission to eradicate terrorism from the country,” the ISPR statement emphasized.

This action follows the tragic incident on Monday, where seven Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred when their vehicle was struck by an IED in the same district. The ISPR reiterated that efforts to cleanse the area of any remaining terrorist elements are continuing with full determination.
