Legal blow for YouTubers in Islamabad: Assets confiscated, passports blocked

An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad has taken stringent measures against prominent YouTubers Adil Raja, Shaheen Sehbai, Moeed Pirzada, Sabir Shakir, Haider Mehdi, and Wajahat S Khan, declaring them absconders in a case involving incitement and provocation to violence.

Judge Tahir Abbas Supra presiding over the case has directed the Deputy Commissioner to seize both movable and immovable assets belonging to the accused. Furthermore, the court has instructed the Chairman of NADRA to block their identity cards and NICOPs, while the Director General of FIA has been ordered to block their passports.

The court has set a deadline of July 10 for all relevant departments to submit compliance reports regarding these actions. Prosecution witnesses’ statements against the accused have been recorded as part of the legal proceedings.

Adil Raja, Shaheen Sehbai, Moeed Pirzada, Sabir Shakir, Haider Mehdi, and Wajahat S Khan are facing charges related to inciting violence and provocation.

This development marks a significant escalation in the legal proceedings against the aforementioned YouTubers, known for their active social media presence and commentary on various national issues.
