Drone strike in Israel by Hezbollah leaves more than 60 injured

On Sunday, an Israeli volunteer rescue service reported that over 60 individuals were injured in an incident south of Haifa, following a drone strike claimed by Hezbollah targeting a military base.

United Hatzalah, the rescue service, shared a statement on Facebook, saying, “With the help of United Hatzalah ambulance teams, we assisted more than 60 people who sustained injuries ranging from critical to minor.”

Earlier that day, Hezbollah, engaged in ongoing conflict with Israel, announced it had launched “a squadron of attack drones” at a military training camp in Binyamina, south of Haifa, in retaliation for Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon.

This event occurred just two days after air raid sirens were activated in central Israel, when drones from Lebanon breached Israeli airspace. At least one building was damaged north of Tel Aviv during that attack.

Hezbollah has been launching rockets and drones across the Israel-Lebanon border for over a year, with the range increasing since the escalation of hostilities in late September. Israel’s advanced air defense systems, including Iron Dome, have successfully intercepted most of these attacks, minimizing casualties and damage from strikes or debris.
