Man brutally beaten to death over road rage in front of family

A 28-year-old man, identified as Akash Maeen, was brutally beaten to death by a group of men in a violent road rage incident following an altercation over a rickshaw accident on Saturday. The incident took place in Malad, Mumbai.

Maeen, a worker for the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), was with his parents at the time of the tragic event. The confrontation occurred near Pushpa Park when a rickshaw, attempting to overtake, collided with Akash’s car, according to Dindoshi Police.

A heated argument ensued, but the rickshaw driver fled the scene shortly after. However, tensions escalated as a crowd gathered in support of the driver, turning violent.

Disturbing footage of the attack shows Akash being mercilessly beaten by the group while his father struggles to protect him. In a desperate attempt to shield her son, Akash’s mother is seen lying over his body to stop the attackers.

“Maeen was kicked and punched, sustaining severe injuries,” a police official stated. “He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.”

Based on CCTV evidence, authorities arrested six individuals on Sunday and an additional three on Monday, charging them under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for murder and related offences. All nine suspects remain in police custody until October 22.
