The question of whether there would be a sequel to the hit drama Parizaad has been answered, much to the delight of fans. It has been officially confirmed that season two of the show will grace screens next year.
Based on the novel of the same name, Parizaad featured Ahmed Ali Akbar in the lead role. He portrayed a college student determined to achieve his dreams. The drama premiered in July 2021 and concluded its first season with a theatrical finale on January 28, 2022. It was followed by a television broadcast on February 1, 2022.
Critically acclaimed for its departure from conventional Pakistani drama tropes, particularly the portrayal of women, Parizaad garnered praise from both critics and audiences.
Duraid Qureshi, the CEO of Hum Network, assured viewers that the upcoming season would offer a compelling narrative. Reflecting on the success of the show, Qureshi emphasized the importance of quality content and seamless storytelling.
His announcement coincided with hints from Akbar. He expressed his attachment to the character of Parizaad and suggested a return to the series. Following his role in the film Gunjal, Akbar reflected on the profound impact of portraying Parizaad. He indicated a deep connection to the character.
